About me
I have been in private practice since 2003, seeing both individuals and couples.
I am a clinical member of the Ontario Association of Psychotherapists and received my   training and diploma from the Toronto Institute of Relational Psychotherapy.
I am currently  a psychoanalytic analyst  at the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis.  In addition I have an honours bachelor of Fine Arts from York University.

In the world of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis there are generally two streams, those who practice from a more medicalized model  and those who approach the field from the humanities, from a  literary or arts perspective. While mindful of the importance and value in each, my background is in the arts. I am a musician, and have spent almost 30 years listening deeply and responding sensitively to others in the moment. This same skill informs my work as a therapist.

From both my professional and personal experience  I believe that it is not necessarily the therapeutic theory, the approach, or the programme that leads to change and growth. It's the something extra, the relationship that we forge that can make growth and real change possible.
